My daughter…participated in the children's choir in Lansing for two years under Kimi Martin's leadership. I cannot recommend Kimi Martin highly enough as both a music instructor and a spiritual mentor. Kimi knew the right balance between challenging a child toward excellence and not having unreasonable expectations. She made music fun for the children so that they wanted to excel. She always built spiritual lessons into their class time. Her enthusiasm was totally contagious! As a home school mom, I could not have hand-picked a better music instructor for my daughter. Any child who has the opportunity to sit under Kimi's instruction will be blessed beyond measure.

Even being a musician, I found it hard to teach my son the depth of appreciation of music without being a part of an ensemble. There's just no substitute for a group of people working and learning together musically.If you were to attend private lessons you could pay $30 or more per hour of consultation, without the experience of group performance.
Depending on the value you place on your time ... your investment to give your child professional instruction could be in the thousands of dollars.
That is why I am offering classes for 3 different age groups of kids, for 16 weeks during each semester of the school year. Tuition for a class at such a specialized academy would be a huge bargain at a price of $300... just a fraction of the costs of private instruction.
But I'm offering to the home school community in Southwest Michigan in-depth courses of study including an introduction to music theory and keyboard, three different vocal groups, and a musical theater class that will perform a full-out musical production.
We have a great start from our first term, and we can't wait to meet you, too! We have been approved for Berrien Springs Partnership Program, which means that classes may fill up quicker than even we expect.
